Okay, so Mike WiLL Made It is a pretty famous producer. He had that wack ass song with Miley Cyrus called 23. His beats aren’t amazing, but they’re usually pretty decent. He’s done a lot of work with Future, Gucci Mane, Juicy J and of course Rae Sremmurd. I’m here more for the rappers than the actual producer. Okay, never mind I just looked at the track list. Whatever. I’m sure there will be some good songs. Every good song is worth hearing, even if it means you have to get through some Big Sean and Young Thug tracks. Click here to listen to the mixtape yourself.
Track 1: Paradise (Performed by Big Sean) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Marz]
Idk why, but I assumed Mike WiLL would be producing the whole thing by himself. I’m actually glad he got other producers on here tho. Okay, this beat is kind of shitty. This hook sucks ass. Big Sean’s flow is actually not bad on this one. He’s just rappin’ about the same shit he always does tho. This beat is actually kinda nice once the bass comes in, but damn. I don’t need Big Sean’s annoying voice hollerin’ right in my fuckin’ ear like that. Damn. 2/5
Track 2: Fuck U Expect (Performed by Jace) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Marz]
You’re probably wondering who Jace is. He’s one half of the rap duo, Retro Sushi. You’re probably wondering who Retro Sushi is. They’re one third of the rap group, Two-9. You’re probably wondering who Two-9 is. They’re a rap group signed under Mike WiLL’s label, Ear Drummers Entertainment. They’re comprised of Curtis Williams, FatKidsBrotha (another rap duo with Johnny & Dave. Yeah, that’s they whole name I guess. Just Johnny & Dave…), and Retro Sushi. I only know about Two-9 because of Curtis Williams. He has a really good song with Wiz Khalifa called Shenanigans. You should check that out. Anyway, this beat really isn’t that good. It has this really annoying background noise. It’s kind of like the one in the intro to Move That Dope by Future. Just in a lower pitch. It’s literally just that noise, some hi-hats, snares and a boring ass bass line. Average flow from Jace. Some dumb ass bars. The beat just switched up a little bit for the hook. It’s still not good tho. This hook is boring. This song feels incomplete. It has a skeletal beat and only one verse from Jace. This shit is wack af. 1/5
Track 3: Someone To Love (Performed by 2 Chainz) Feat. Cap 1 & Skooly [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Marz]
This beat is kind of shitty too. It sounds like a trap version of a beat that Kanye might make if he were really drunk. I would probably have to have popped a molly to enjoy this song. This beat is just noise. 2 Chainz’s verse wasn’t bad (for 2 Chainz at least). Cap 1 has a dope flow on this one. This hook is really boring. Skooly gotta average flow. “You want somethin’ salty go shit in your hand.” Wtf is this nigga talkin’ about? The top comment for this one on HotNewHipHop is, “Omg I’m so ready for Ransom to motivate me going into this new year!” Now, I’m not sure if this person was joking or not, but if he/she wasn’t, then it is clear to me that all of Mike WiLL’s fans are teenage white girls. The only reply to that comment said, “Omg.” 2/5
Track 4: Drinks On Us (Performed by Swae Lee) Feat. Future [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & DJ Fu]
All of these beats sound the same. Actually these might all be the same beats. They’re all just a bass line with hi hats & snares. Just in different drum patterns… Wtf? How am I hearing the worst Mike WiLL beats on his own project? Oh yeah, if you guys don’t know, Swae Lee is one of the guys from Rae Sremmurd. The other guy is Slim Jxmmi. This hook is awful. Why would you get a feature from Future on your song and have him give you a verse instead of a hook? This song is a mess. 1/5
Track 5: Game For A Lame (Performed by Fortune 5) Feat. Bankroll Fresh [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & JBo]
Oh God. Wtf is this shit? I have no idea who the fuck Fortune 5 and Bankroll Fresh are, but I can tell from the hook that this shit is gonna be ass. Fuck this song. I’m not gonna say anything about this beat because everything I said about the previous one applies here. 1/5
Track 6: Stop-Start (Performed by Gucci Mane) Feat. Chief Keef & PeeWee Longway [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Pluss]
Finally some rappers that know how to make trap music. That’s a good thing. I think. This beat is actually not that bad. This is the first song where it feels like someone is trying. Dope hook from GuWop. Chief Keef’s verse sounds like it was written by a freshman at my high school. That’s not good. I’m surprised his verse is properly mastered. “Up my gun and make this bitch fart.” “Walk up in this bitch, I’m Keef.” Classic Sosa. Average verse from PeeWee. You know your album is wack when the best song comes from Gucci Mane. 4/5
Track 7: Money Long (Performed by Key! & Light Skin Mac 11) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Pluss]
I don’t know which rapper is which. I’m gonna assume that the person who said, “Now usually I don’t… do this” in a really feminine way is Key! Lmao wtf this nigga fell asleep as soon as his verse started. Oh never mind he woke up during the third bar. This song is stupid af. Average hook. Average flow. Dumbass bars. Same beat. 2/5
Track 8: Choppin’ Blades (Riff Raff) Feat. Slim Jxmmi [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Pluss]
Riff Raff… I don’t know what to say. This beat is better than the other ones, but still pretty bad. Riff Raff did Riff Raff. Slim Jxmmi’s bars were wack, but I liked the execution. This song is just kinda mundane. I learned that word today. The hook is boring af. 3/5
Track 9: That God Damn Freestyle (Swae Lee) Feat. Jace & Andrea [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It, Ducko McFli & Syk Sense]
Who the fuck is Andrea? Why do all of these rappers just have random ass first names? This beat is average. Definitely better than most of the other ones on this tape, but that really isn’t saying much. Swae Lee’s voice is annoying af. Jace’s flow is kinda nice on this one. Andrea sounds like Trae The Truth. Her voice doesn’t, but the way she talk do. She gotta nice flow I guess. The song ends kind of abruptly. 3/5
Track 10: DC Young Fly Speaks
Who the fuck is DC Young Fly? Why the fuck would anyone wanna hear this nigga talk about eatin’ cinnamon toast crunch for? Not gonna give this one a score, but I kinda wanna give it a one.
Track 11: Screen Door (Performed by Bankroll Fresh) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Pluss]
This beat is actually kinda nice, but Bankroll Fresh just isn’t good. Actually the beat isn’t that good. This is bad. Real bad. The hook sucks anus. 1/5
Track 12: Don’t Trust (Performed by Juicy J) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & JBo]
This beat is cool. Juicy J is one of the most average rappers to me. He’s a much better producer than rapper. This hook is average. Average bars. Average flow. Was never a huge fan of Three 6 Mafia. 3/5
Track 13: Swerve (Performed by ILoveMakonnen) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Marz]
No. 1/5
Track 14: Buy The World (Performed by Lil Wayne) Feat. Kendrick Lamar & Future
Finally a different sounding song. Except I been heard this song. Average beat. Nice hook from Future. Cool verse from Weezy. Dope verse from K. Dot. Coulda did without the bridge from Kendrick. Not a bad track tho. 4/5
Track 15: Change (Performed by Eearz) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Pluss]
Eearz? Why the fuck would you name yourself after a human body part? Or any body part? My new rap name is Nut. Jk. I’m tired. This song is average. This beat is cool. Autotune. 3/5
Track 16: California Rari (Performed by Young Thug) Feat. Future & Problem [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Nazty]
Wtf is Thugger saying? “California rari like a prebly! Californa rar like a preh! Califor Eh!” I have no idea how that nigga blew up in the first place. He’s a funny guy tho. Future is just bad. His voice cracks at least 30 times in each verse. Problem killed that shit. He had a real short verse tho. 2/5
Track 17: Possible (Performed by Yung Joey) Feat. DeJ Loaf [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & JBo]
Yung Joey is apparently signed to Mike WiLL’s label. He made a wack ass hook on this one. DeJ Loaf’s verse actually wasn’t that bad, but this shit just isn’t good. Every bar sounds exactly like the hook. 2/5
Track 18: In My Hands (Performed by Quavo) Feat. Takeoff [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & JBo]
This is dope for a trap song. Average beat. Cool hook from Quavo. Takeoff killed it… Don’t take this song seriously. It’s ignorant trap shit. I can fuck with trap music as long as it’s done well like this. 4/5
Track 19: Hasta Lauego (Performed by Rich Homie Quan) [Prod. Mike WiLL Made It & Ducko McFli]
I’m sorry, but I just can’t fuck with Rich Homie Quan. He’s just so bad. He’s cool on a feature sometimes, but I could never listen to a whole song from him. Cloudy ass beat. Weak hook. Weak bars. 2/5
Track 20: Outro
Okay this nigga basically just sayin’, “we made it” to his female barber. This won’t get a score.
Final Thoughts
That shit was awful. The beats were arguably the worst thing about this tape and that’s kind of a big fuckin’ problem. Mike WiLL Made It is nothing special, but he usually does better than this. A lot of these beats sound lazy af. Most of them sound similar. Only two tracks sounded like finished songs. Most of these rappers aren’t even worth featuring, but I guess it makes sense that he wants to promote his artists. I was kinda hoping 23 would be on here so I could tear that apart, but I guess I’ll have to wait ’til his album drops.
