This album came out on Christmas last year. I think he cancelled Loso’s Way 2. Not sure tho. This is his first album since like 2009 or 2010. I hear a lot of people callin’ Fabolous a legend sometimes and I honestly don’t get it. It may be because I’ve never listened to any of his albums, but his music is nothing special to me. He’s nowhere near legendary. I am a fan, but he seems pretty… idk… generic. He really doesn’t stand out to me. He makes a lot of good songs, but sometimes he just makes… garbage. I listened to his mixtapes The S.O.U.L. Tape 2 & The S.O.U.L. Tape 3 and they were pretty dope. He’s just dope to me. Not legendary. He just seems so corny & stupid sometimes too. Just look at the trailer for this album.
What the fuck was that? That shit was stupid as fuck. There are some real shitty features on this thing too. I don’t know any legend that works with Rich Homie Quan or French Montana. Hopefully he can change my mind… I might have to go back and listen to his older shit if this shit don’t work out. And what the fuck kinda name is Fabolous? I got nothing against bein’ gay… But Fabolous gotta be one of the gayest names a straight rapper could have. Only thing gayer than that would be somethin’ like Glamerouzzz… or Flo Rida.
Track 1: Lituation (Prod. Mally The Martian)
This beat is dope. This hook is kinda… bad. It’s not terrible, but it’s just… kinda… stupid I guess… It’s definitely finna be stuck in my head tho. His flow is cool. It gets a little old by the second verse tho… He shoulda switched it up a little. This hook is just annoying… I kinda enjoyed the song tho… It’s alright 3/5
Track 2: We Good Feat. Rich Homie Quan (Prod. Phonix Beats)
Oh shit. Not Rich Homie Quan. I hate listening to rappers who can’t speak English clearly. I have no idea what the fuck this nigga is sayin’ half the time. He sounds like he got his tongue cut out. This beat is dope af. Wow. I actually like the hook from Rich Homie Quan… Huh… This shit actually kinda smooth. It’s still not that great, but it’s fucking heavenly for Rich Homie Quan. Fabolous flow is cool. This is obviously an attempt at a radio hit… But he did a good job. I would be okay with this being on the radio. I wouldn’t change the station. Rich Homie Quan actually wasn’t that bad. This beat is dope af too. I fuck with this. 4/5
Track 3: All Good (Prod. The Superiors & Detrakz)
He sampled the intro to Juicy by Biggie for the intro to this song. This beat is dope af. I don’t know who the fuck that was singin’ in the middle of Fab’s verse. It wasn’t bad tho. Oh nevermind that’s the hook. That shit longer than a mf. It’s dope tho. His flow is cool on this. This is actually pretty dope. It’s kinda… stupid tho… He’s just rappin’ about stuff that’s good. A lot of times Fabolous just raps about generic rap shit. He just does a better job of doing it than most people. He’s like Big Sean if Big Sean could rap. I don’t think the way the beat slows down in the middle of each verse worked very well either. It didn’t sound natural. This track is dope tho. I fuck with this. 4/5
Track 4: You Made Me Feat. Tish Hyman (Prod. Chase N. Cashe)
This beat is dope af. The hook’s cool. Fab did his thing on the first verse. Tish Hyman (Tish? Wtf kinda name is Tish?) is on the hook. Not really tho. She’s just saying the same exact thing that Fabolous is saying. And she’s harmonizing. It’s nothing he couldn’t’ve did. It’s a cool song tho. I fuck with this. He got some dumbass bars on this track tho. “Your boy tried to fuck me over, thought we was homies / Guess he was a h-o-e when I say hoemies.” It’s still dope tho. 4/5
Track 5: She Wildin’ Feat. Chris Brown (Prod. Count Justice & The Superiors)
That’s stupid. I hate when people use the word “wild” as a verb. This hook is fuckin’ stupid. “Ooh, she wildin’, wildin’ / She do her thang, thang” That hook is fuckin’ terrible… I kinda like the way Chris Brown sang it tho… That nigga be singin’ like a mf. Sonically, the hook is dope af. Lyrically, it’s a fucking donkey miscarriage. That means its awful. The beat is dope. This song is just about a bad bitch shakin’ her fat ass. Fabolous got average bars & a average flow. This is a bad song… But I like it anyway. 3/5
Track 6: Ball Drop Feat. French Montana (Prod. O.Z. & The MeKanics)
“HAAAAANNN!!!! CHANGE IS GOOD FUH EHBUDDYYYYYYY” Shut the fuck up. I fucking hate French Montana. I would rather listen to a fuckin’ Kreayshawn album than a French Montana project. Fuck French Montana. He is fucking awful. I seriously don’t know why anybody would want to listen to him. Just listen to him. He just sounds fucking stupid. You can tell by hearing him say one word that he’s a fucking idiot. Not in the same way Rich Homie Quan sounds dumb. French Montana is on a whole other level. He just sounds fucking retarded. I’m sorry. I didn’t want to have to use that word… but French Montana is fucking retarded. That said, his hook on I Be On It by Meek Mill is dope af. That’s the only time I ever liked him. Other than that, he can go fuck himself in his stupid fuckin’ ass. I bet I could say that shit to his face and the only comeback he would be able to come up with is “I’m gettin’ money you just a hater haaann.” You know you’re a bad rapper when the only thing you can say is “I’m gettin’ money.” …He ain’t that bad on this track tho… But seriously French Montana is fucking awful why does he have fans? I’m not even hatin’ at this point I seriously don’t understand how anyone could enjoy his music… This song is actually dope tho. The beat’s dope af. The hook’s kinda stupid, but it’s better than I expected it to be since it’s coming from the worst rapper to ever be taken seriously by anyone. Fab’s first verse is real short. Just 8 bars. Oh shit. Montana got a verse. His shit was wack af… Fuck… This nigga stay ruinin’ songs. Why the fuck does French Montana have a longer verse than Fabolous? Oh nevermind Fab got a second verse. Montana shouldn’ta had a verse tho. It’s a cool song until Montana opens his mouth. It’s not terrible tho. The beat is dope af. Fabolous could do better, but he isn’t terrible. This is some of Montana’s best work (which is really sad when you think about what that means). 3/5
Track 7: Bish Bounce (Prod. Vinylz & Boi-1da)
Bish Bounce? This shit is about to be stupid af. Vinylz & Boi-1da always be makin’ heat tho. Never mind, this beat is nothin’ special. Dumb ass hook. Boring beat. Average bars. Not feelin’ it. 2/5
Track 8: Rap & Sex (Prod. C-Sick)
Rap & Sex? This is probably gonna be the most generic shit I’ve ever heard… C-Sick always be makin’ heat tho. Yeah I was right this time. This beat is fuckin’ dope af. This hook is fucking stupid tho. I hate it when people use sex as a verb. Actually, I haven’t heard anybody do that since I was in the third grade. “They were sexing.” I remember this really lame kid named David saying that. Sex isn’t a fucking verb. If you use sex as a verb then we ain’t friends. Fab’s bars are generic af. The beat saves this shit. I love this beat. Fab was average at best on this shit. His flow was actually kinda dope tho. The beat is really good too. I fuck with this. 4/5.
Track 9: Gone For The Winter Feat. Velous (Prod. DJ Relly Rell, Jahaan Sweet & Vinylz)
This beat is dope af. I feel like I’ve heard this sample before. It’s still dope tho. Yeah, it’s the sample from Represent by Nas. I like how it was used in this song. Velous was dope on that hook. I only ever heard him on a song called Adult Swim by DJ SpinKing. That nigga can sing. The beat & hook are dope af. Fabolous did his thing. There are a couple bars in this shit that make me cringe tho… “Kings don’t speak English we speak Kinglish” That’s just stupid. You can tell that there was a lot more effort put into this song than everything else on this album so far. That last verse was dope af too. I fuck with this. This is dope af. EDIT: The sample is from Represent by Nas. 5/5
Track 10: Cinnamon Apple Feat. Kevin Hart (Prod. Phonix Beats)
This beat is dope af. Cinnamon Apple? This is actually kinda dope. It kinda reminds me of Wet Dreamz by J. Cole. Except he never fucked. His girl got fucked by some other nigga tho. Sucks for him. This is actually dope af. He’s actually talkin’ about shit that matters. Well… it doesn’t really matter… But you can tell it mattered to him. Well, I guess money & hoes matter to rappers… But… Well, y’all know what I mean. He’s actually talking about something interesting. Not the same generic rap music shit. At the end Kevin Hart just does the Cinnamon Apple shit from that vine. I guess it’s supposed to be funny, but it’s just kinda lame. He shoulda came up with his own shit. And I never thought that Vine was that funny in the first place. It just made me mad. Actually, I don’t like Vine at all. Vine is LAME. Yeah I said it. Fuck Vine. It’s just a bunch of dumb ass kids tryin’ too hard to be funny. This song is dope af tho. 5/5
Track 11: Young OG II Feat. Abir Haronni (Prod. Mark Henry Beats)
This is just Young OG from his S.O.U.L. Tape 3 project with an added verse. Not really feelin’ the hook… That chick Abir got a weird accent. When she says “similar” it sounds like she sayin’ “sim-you-ler.” I’ve never heard anyone pronounce it like that. The beat’s cool. Fabolous got a average flow, but i liked his verse. He’s actually rappin’ about shit. The second verse was dope af. It’s dedicated to his son. I fuck with this. 4/5
That wasn’t terrible, but Fabolous can definitely do better. The beats were all dope af. Fabolous was actually kinda wack until the last 3 tracks. Cinnamon Apple was dope af. That’s the kinda Fabolous I like. I don’t like Bish Bounce Fabolous. I like Gone For The Winter Fabolous. There were some features from terrible artists like French Montana & Rich Homie Quan, but they both did a lot better than I expected them to. Honestly, this whole album felt pretty rushed. It didn’t even really feel like he was trying until the last few songs. All of the other songs were only listenable because they had great beats and acceptable hooks. I feel like he didn’t really care about how this project turned out. I think he was still focusing on Loso’s Way 2 while he was working on this. That project is apparently supposed to come out this year btw. Anyway, I think this album is worth listening to, but it definitely ain’t worth buying.
