This album was released on April 29th this year. I’m writing this preamble before it drops. It’s technically premiering on Beats 1 Radio later tonight. If you’ve been a reader on my website for a long time, you know that I’m not really that big of a Drake fan. I HAVE to review this shit tho because this will probably be the biggest Hip Hop release of 2016. I’m just gonna say it; I’m not lookin’ forward to this shit. The majority of the singles for this album have been incredibly underwhelming. Not to mention the fact that Drake’s ego has gotten so fucking big that it’s not even funny anymore. I’ve been saying that shit ever since he first blew up tho. It’s only gotten worse ever since his infamous beef with Meek Mill. I guess it makes sense given the position that he’s in. His dickriders have reached an absurd level that I thought I’d never encounter in my lifetime tho. They’ve pretty much completely ruined the HotNewHipHop comment section. I guess the album started streaming 22 minutes ago—it’s 11:22—and this guy, “Mr. October” is on Drake’s dick again. He has the top comment on damn near every HotNewHipHop article, and it always looks like this…

Screen Shot 2016-04-28 at 11.19.31 PM

The album hasn’t even been out for half an hour yet, so there’s no way he’s listened to the whole thing. This is what I’m talking about when I say Drake has the worst dickriders. I’ve never seen anything like it before in my life. They make me fuckin’ sick. I mean, I know that guy’s just joking, but I swear a lot of Drake fans actually talk like that. I can’t fuckin’ stand it. Whatever. I’m getting off topic. I thought If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late & What A Time To Be Alive were both pretty terrible, but those were both marketed as mixtapes—even tho he charged money for them, which is BULLshit—so hopefully this’ll be better. The original title of this album, Views From The 6, was announced all the way back in 2014. He changed it to just VIEWS a few days ago. If you ask me, VIEWS is a much worse title than Views From The 6. That doesn’t really matter tho. I’m just glad this bullshit is finally out. Hopefully his hype will start to dissipate now. I really don’t see how Drake could get any bigger than he actually is right now. I don’t mean to come off as a hater. I hate Drake’s stans more than Drake himself. I don’t hate Drake at all. I think that he comes off as kind of a douche, and that he’s wildly overrated, but maybe I AM just being a “hater.” He calls himself the 6 God tho. How can you not think he’s a douche? I like his music tho. I mean, I don’t, but I like some of it. Even tho I didn’t like If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, I thought there were some good songs on there. Three to be exact. Well, I guess I technically only liked one complete song. I liked the second half of *67 & the second half of Know Yourself tho, so in a way I liked two songs from the project. What A Time To Be Alive was really bad, but that was mostly because of Future. I actually think 30 For 30 was a great song. Hopefully he’s rapping like that more on this album. I have a feeling that track was ghostwritten, but there’s no reason to believe that this whole album isn’t ghostwritten. I think Quentin Miller’s finished working with Drake, but hopefully he’s got more people writing for him. Anyway, there are 20 tracks on this album. I’m expecting to like about 5 of them. I’ll be disappointed if I like less than 3. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if I like more than 7 or 8. The features look pretty bad, but the production credits look good. Can’t wait for the writing credits to come out… Okay. I’m gonna start it now.

Track 1: Keep The Family Close (Prod. Maneesh)

gcfpkuj

Okay, Drake is actually singing for real on the hook. I wonder if he’ll be rapping. I feel like it’s been forever since he sung his ass off on a hook and then actually rapped on the verses. I’m not really in love with this hook, but it’s alright. It’s definitely not bad. It’s just not that good. It gets the job done tho. Oh fuck… He’s singing the verses… Damnit. I’m not really feelin’ this dramatic production. This is kind of a boring way to open the album up. It’s a very well produced track. The actual beat itself just isn’t really doin’ much for me. This is the epitome of Drake music. He’s just singing over an overdramatic beat about relationships and shit. This isn’t really for me. I don’t think this is a bad song. I wouldn’t ever listen to it again tho… It’s not for me. I can see why he was singing throughout this track. It’d be hard to rap over this production. I’m not really feelin’ this shit. It lasted way too long. This was a pretty boring way to open up the album. I don’t know if I’d call this a bad song. I know I wouldn’t call it a good song tho… It’s alright. 3/5

Track 2: 9 (Prod. 40, Boi-1da & Brian Alexander Morgan)

This beat is fucking incredible. Drake’s flow is pretty boring on this first verse. Eh… The first verse was alright. Lyrically, he’s just displaying his strange obsession for Toronto even more. I never understood shit like that. I’m from Durham, North Carolina, but I don’t really care about this town. I just live here. That could have something to do with it being Durham tho… It’s not exactly the most exciting city in the world… This would be a really good song if Drake was a good rapper. The verses are just boring. He’s got a lazy flow and uninteresting lyrics. I don’t give a shit about how much you love Toronto. Nothing he says makes me wanna go to Toronto. The hook is dope tho. 40 & Boi-1da are REALLY fucking good at their jobs. This beat is phenomenal. I can’t wait for someone who can actually rap well to remix this shit. I just hope it happens soon because this is a waste of a dope beat. Seriously, even if you don’t like Drake, y’all need to listen to this shit because 40 & Boi-1da put they ASS in this beat. The hook’s dope too. The verses are just really boring tho. I don’t know why his flow is so lazy. I don’t really see how anyone could say that these verses are above average. It’s not terrible lyrically. It’s just not that good. That pretty much sums up my entire opinion of Drake. He’s just not that good. I really wish I liked this song, ’cause that beat is incredible to me. Drake’s just so boring… Uhhh. I do kinda like this tho. Only because of the production. The beat is fucking insane. If you care more about the beat and the hook than the actual verses, then you’ll probably like this. Fuck. The beat is soo fucking good. Why? WHY? Why couldn’t he have rapped like he did on 6 PM In New York over this shit? Fuck. Whatever. The beat is dope af. Drake kinda brought the shit down for me, but I still enjoyed the song. This track is dope. Kinda. Fuck. I don’t feel right calling this dope. Alright, I’m just gonna say this song is okay, but, for what it’s worth, I’m not gonna delete this song. The beat is just too good. 3/5

Track 3: U With Me? (Prod. 40, Kanye West, DJ Dahi, Ricci Riera, Vinylz & Axlfolie)

That’s kinda interesting that he got a TDE producer on this album. Axlfolie’s a member of Digi+Phonics for those of you who don’t know. Okay, the track’s starting now. There’s a DMX sample right before the first verse starts. This beat is dope af. I kinda expected more from these huge names. It’s still a great beat tho. This is a stereotypical Drake track. If you like Drake, there’s no reason for you to not like this track. If you only like some of Drake’s shit you probably won’t like this. Sonically, this is a pretty good track. Lyrically tho… It’s not good. “You toyin’ with it like Happy Meal.” I’ve definitely heard worse from Drake tho. It’s just not for me. Y’all know I don’t like songs about relationships and shit. This might actually be the softest shit I’ve heard all year. I fuck with this sonically. The subject matter just holds it back for me. This isn’t really for me. I like the way the beat switched up after the second recital of the hook. The hook itself is kinda underwhelming. I like the way his delivery got more melodic and energetic during the final verse. Honestly, most people will probably like this song. I feel like this is a good song objectively. I just don’t really like songs about shit like this. It’s just so fucking soft. That’s a personal problem. This is a subjective review tho… I’m not really fuckin’ with this track. It’s alright. 3/5

Track 4: Feel No Ways (Prod. Jordan Ullman)

The production on this album has been really good so far. That’s to be expected tho. Drake’s always had really good production in my opinion. I’m not really a Drake fan, but I’ve always been a big fan of Boi-1da & 40. Okay, this track is starting now. This sounds like it’s gonna be some R&B shit. The beat is so fucking smooth. The production is immaculate, and Drake sounds decent over it. His vocals aren’t super impressive on this track or anything, but it gets the job done. There are definitely a gang of other singers I’d rather hear over this beat, but I think Drake did an alright job. He’s not doin’ that half assed bullshit that he did on songs like Wu-Tang Forever. I don’t think I’d ever come back to this shit because it’s soft as fuck, and this really just isn’t for me, but I think he did it pretty well. Y’all gotta remember that if this was an objective review, it’d probably be a lot more positive. This just isn’t for me tho. I usually prefer Drake rapping, but there’s no way he could’ve spit over this beat without looking like a motherfucker. I don’t think this is a bad song. I’d rather hear someone like Sampha or Tory Lanez singing over this beat, but Drake did his thing. It’s alright. 3/5

Track 5: Hype (Prod. Boi-1da, Nineteen85, The Beat Bully & Cubeatz)

Hmmm. I guess the main reason that every track has been getting a 3 is because the album is pretty good sonically so far. The lyrics just aren’t that great, and the subject matter isn’t for me. Not to mention his lazy flow and underwhelming hooks. This is highly subjective tho. I’m sure a lot of people will say the hooks are great. I don’t really see how you could say his flow is above mediocre, but that’s just me. Okay, this track is starting now. This beat is alright. It’s kinda boring honestly. I definitely expected more from Boi-1da. The first verse was decent. I guess. It’s typical, braggadocios Drake music. His flow is pretty boring. The hook is very underwhelming. This just isn’t a good song. Everything about this track is underwhelming. I’m not impressed. I wish his flow was less basic. I wish the beat was better. I wish the hook was less boring. I wish the lyrics were more interesting. Nothing about this song is good to me. It’s not terrible, but this is pretty wack to me. I’m not feelin’ it. It’s just boring. 2/5

Track 6: Weston Road Flows (Prod. 40)

I just checked Twitter, and honestly it looks like a lot of other people are pretty disappointed too. I found this picture there…

ChL2QppUcAAWoFI

That’s definitely going a bit too far in my opinion. The album isn’t bad so far. It’s just not good. I guess people WERE hyping it up a lot, but if you’re a fan of Drake I don’t see how this is any worse than his other shit. It’s just more of the same. Maybe that’s why people are disappointed. On the other hand, you got people already calling it a classic. “#ViewsFromThe6 has to be the greatest album I’ve heard in a few years to me personally congrats @Drake #Another1” That’s a real tweet that I just saw. Okay whatever, I’m gonna go ahead and start this track now. This sample was kinda underwhelming to me at first, but once the bass comes in it gets a lot better. Drake’s just goin’ in on one long ass verse. He’s got some good lines in there. “I’m lookin at they first week numbers like ‘WHAT ARE THOOOOOSE‘ / I mean you boys not even coming close.” I think that whole “WHAT ARE THOOSE” trend was corny af, but that was still a good line. Of course he cancels it out with a dumb line tho… “Used to have secret handshakes to confirm my friendships.” I don’t think I could come up with a softer, more suspect way to say that shit even if I tried. This motherfucker really just told us that he “confirms” his friendships with a secret handshake? I don’t fucking believe it. That’s mad embarrassing. He’s Drake tho. He’s used to getting embarrassed. There are few rappers who have been clowned as hard as Drake. You gotta respect him for not letting that shit get to him. I mean, clearly it does get to him because he raps about it on songs like You & The 6, but… Well, there really is no “but.” I guess I kinda just proved myself wrong. He’s more of a bitch than I thought. “I get green like Earth Day.” I guess Quentin Miller isn’t pickin’ up his phone… I don’t see myself coming back to this. This track has one of the least impressive beats on the album so far. The hook was very underwhelming. Drake has too many wack lines on this shit. It’s just not good. It’s definitely not terrible. I have absolutely no desire to listen to this shit again tho. This shit is wack to me. 2/5

Track 7: Redemption (Prod. 40)

This album is so fucking soft. I’m sorry, but it just is. I don’t know why I wasn’t expecting to hear this kinda soft ass shit. I guess the singles haven’t really been this soft. I mean, they were definitely soft, but they weren’t THIS soft. This is on another level. The beat is boring as shit. I’m not feelin’ this hook. This is… not good. I’m not feelin’ this shit. This is easily the softest track on the album so far. It’s so boring sonically. This is the definition of “not for me.” I can’t stand this shit. Sonically, this is as boring as it could possibly be. I don’t wanna hear Drake crying over this warbled mess of a beat. This is so bad to me. I don’t get why Hip Hop fans would like this shit. I GUESS if you like R&B you might like this. This is just so boring tho. I can’t stand this beat. I feel like I’m sinking to the bottom of a lotion filled pool. And no, I wasn’t feeling the final verse even tho the beat switched up and he started rapping. This is wack af to me. I can’t stand shit like this. 1/5

Track 8: With You Feat. PARTYNEXTDOOR (Prod. Murda Beatz)

Oh God… I’m not really familiar with PARTYNEXTDOOR; I’ve only heard him on one song before, but it was fucking God awful. It was a song called Preach, which was on If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late. Hopefully this track isn’t as bad as that. It’s starting now. Yeah, this hook is pretty terrible. I’m not feelin’ PND’s vocals at all. I kinda like this beat tho. The first verse from PARTYNEXTDOOR was decent. Oh God… I’m REALLY not feelin’ this hook. This is… I’m sorry… I feel bad for saying this because I know it’s fucked up, but I REALLY feel like this album was targeted towards a female audience. Is that messed up to say? I mean, I don’t know how you could hear shit like this along with Redemption and Feel No Ways, and NOT think this is targeted towards females. This is some of the softest “Hip Hop” I’ve ever heard in my life. This is really more of an R&B track. I’ve heard good R&B tho. Not all R&B sounds like it’s specifically made for a female audience. This does. There’s nothing wrong with a man enjoying this song tho. You don’t have to be a woman to enjoy this. It’s just too much for me. I feel like I’m in the fuckin’ showers in prison. It’s a West Hollywood prison tho, so I don’t really feel like I’m in danger. I just feel like people are a little TOO comfortable with each other, if you know what I mean. When I hear this song, all I can picture is Drake shampooing with a bunch of steam everywhere. His eyes are closed and he’s singing this song. That’s the music video. If he makes a music video for this song, it’ll just be him shampooing. I’m not feelin’ this shit at all. This is wack af to me. 1/5

Track 9: Faithful Feat. Pimp C & dvsn (Prod. 40, Boi-1da & Nineteen85)

This album’s got a 80:20 singing:rapping ratio so far. I don’t know what made Drake think it was okay to put Pimp C on a track called Faithful with dvsn, but I’m not about to lose sleep over it. I guess I technically AM losing sleep over this album tho because it’s 2:01 AM. This album has been shockingly underwhelming so far. I kinda expected to enjoy it more than I am right now… Maybe this song’ll be good or something. Maybe… I’m not really familiar with dvsn at all. All I know is that he’s signed to OVO, and that his debut album flopped, which has apparently been the case for every non Drake OVO release. Okay, it’s starting now. Pimp C already sounds wildly out of place. This production is fucking incredible. Pimp had a SEVEN bar verse at the beginning. That’s right. SEVEN. It sounded like it was supposed to be 8 bars, but there was just an awkward moment of silence after the last line of his verse, and then Drake came in for the hook. Pimp C has the best verse on the album so far. No surprise there. Not feelin’ the hook. Definitely not feelin’ Drake’s verse. Why the fuck was Pimp C on this song? He doesn’t fit at all… Again, Drake’s flow is lazy, and the subject matter isn’t for me at all. It’s exactly what the title implies. Oh shit… Is that dvsn? That motherfucker is singin’ like a motherfucker. He sounds great on the final verse. I wouldn’t ever listen to this again, but I think it’s a decent track, thanks to 40, Boi-1da, Nineteen85 & dvsn. 3/5

Track 10: Still Here (Prod. Daxz & 40)

Oh shit. Okay. I think I might actually end up liking this song. This beat is dope af. Drake has that melodic flow, but it doesn’t sound bad on this production. This is gonna be a hit. I can already tell. The hook itself kinda sucks. The verses are surprisingly more catchy than the hook. The melody definitely gets old after a while tho. It just ended. Eh. This isn’t a great song, but I definitely think I like it more than the other tracks. Mostly because of the production. The verses weren’t that good lyrically, but… It’s good… It’s a very… Fuck it. I’m lying. I was kinda fuckin’ with this shit at first, but he just repeats the same fucking melody over and over and OVER AND OVER AND FUCKING OVER. He’s been doin’ that same shit since Started From The Bottom came out. There’s little to no variation in the melody or production. I can’t get behind this song. It’s definitely not terrible. I can’t call it a good song tho. It’s just mediocre. I know Drake can do better than this. 3/5

Track 11: Controlla (Prod. Boi-1da, Supa Dups & Allen Ritter)

This song’s been out for a minute, but I never listened to it. The original version apparently featured Popcaan, but he’s been replaced by a Beenie Man sample. I’ve heard good things about this track, so hopefully it doesn’t suck. Wow. People are REALLY disappointed by this album. Remember how I said everyone on HotNewHipHop was dickriding Drake? Well, they’ve apparently ALL turned into Drake haters because damn near every comment is talkin’ about how wack this album is. I guess people were expecting him to rap more. This is pretty much a Pop/R&B album. Okay, lemme actually listen to this bullshit. Nope. Not for me. Pretty much everything I’ve said about the majority of this album applies to this track. It sounds like Hotline Bling, Pt. 2. Soccer Moms will love this shit. OGs won’t. Not for me. 3/5

Track 12: One Dance Feat. Wizkid & Kyla (Prod. Nineteen85, 40 & Wizkid)

One Dance.jpg

I have no idea who Wizkid & Kyla are. Just like the previous track, this song came out a while ago, but I never listened to it. It’s starting now. I’m not feelin’ this beat. Is Drake still a rapper? What happened? Damn near every track is an R&B song. I’m not feelin’ this shit. This beat isn’t good. These vocals from Kyla sound really poorly mixed. They just sound really tinny. No. Why am I listening to this? I’m not feelin’ this track. This is wack to me. 2/5

Track 13: Grammys Feat. Future (Prod. 40, Southside, Cardo & Yung Exclusive)

Oh God… No… Not Future… NO. Well, at least Drake will probably be rapping on this one. I just wish he was a better rapper… His flow on this first verse is pretty bad. “Top 5 no debating.” That’s… That’s just not true… This beat is really underwhelming. Future’s “rapping” now I guess. Oh I guess this is supposed to be the hook. It’s not good. Neither was his verse. No. This isn’t a good song. This is honestly one of the wackest songs on the album. I just cannot stand Future. He’s so fucking bad. Seriously, why is this motherfucker successful? Somebody please tell me… This shit is wack af to me. This is basically a Future song. He’s on the hook and the second verse. Drake’s verse was not good. There’s not a single thing that I like about this song. This is wack af to me. 1/5

Track 14: Child’s Play (Prod. 40)

1kofpyr

Why is… Why is this album so bad? I didn’t think I would love this shit, but I expected it to be a lot better than this… I’ve heard a lot of good things about this song tho. Hopefully people weren’t dickriding. I doubt they were, since most people have been hatin’ on this whole album. Okay, it’s starting now. I’m not feelin’ the hook lyrically, but sonically it’s definitely dope. Oh my God… He’s fuckin’ arguin’ with his girl. Why the motherfuck didn’t I expect to hear a song where he wasn’t cryin’ about his fucked up relationships? Drake is basically the Taylor Swift of the black community. He’s wildly overrated, and damn near every track is about his horrible relationships. This beat is dope tho… “She rode that dick like a soldier.” Since when are soldiers good at riding dicks? I just can’t get into Drake, man. This isn’t bad sonically. I just can’t handle the lyrics and subject matter. This is seriously one of the most bitchmade songs Drake has ever made in his life, and that’s saying a lot. This song is fucking horrible… I mean… Again, I don’t think it’s terrible sonically, but these lyrics, man… This is fucking unforgivable. He’s mad at his girl because she took his car to get tampons, so… he HID THE KEYS. WHATT??? Dude, what a fucking douchebag, seriously. This song is fucking horrible. 1/5

Track 15: Pop Style (Prod. Sevn Thomas & Frank Dukes)

Pop Style

Why the fuck is this song here? THIS ALBUM IS TOO LONG. THIS SONG DOES NOT NEED TO BE HERE. It came out on the same day as One Dance. This is one of the few singles that I actually DID check out. It originally featured JAY-Z & Kanye West. JAY-Z literally had TWO lines in the whole song tho. The beat is dope. Kanye West’s verse was the only other good thing about the original song tho. Now both of the features have been taken out. So… Why is this song here again? It’s not good. The beat sounds like remix of Blessings. I’m not feelin’ the hook. Drake’s verses are fuckin’ WACK. He drops a fucking God awful line right at the beginning of his first verse. “Got so many chains they call me Chaining Tatum.” Are you fucking shitting me Drake? You thought that was a good line? I guess that’s what happens when wack rappers fire their ghostwriters… I don’t even wanna finish this song. This isn’t good. This would’ve been decent if Kanye was still here because he actually had a good verse. Drake just can’t rap tho… I mean, he can sometimes when he wants to. He clearly wasn’t trying on this song tho. I’m not feelin’ this shit at all. This is wack af to me. 1/5

Track 16: Too Good Feat. Rihanna (Prod. Nineteen85)

Oh God… I’m sorry, but I’m not a fan of Rihanna. I don’t think she’s terrible… She’s just not a good singer in my opinion. I’m not feelin’ this beat at all. Oh my fucking God… Remember when I said Controlla was a song for soccer moms? I was wrong. THIS is the song for soccer moms. This is so fucking bad. I’m not comfortable calling this a Hip Hop album. This is Pop music. I can’t stand this shit. I’m not feelin’ Rihanna’s part. This is really fucking bad. I think this might be the wackest song on the album so far. This is fucking dogshit to me. I can’t take this shit. 0/5

tumblr_n4iv84umqw1twr278o2_1280

Track 17: Summer’s Over Interlude (Prod. Maneesh)

Holy fuck this album is long as shit.

Track 18: Fire & Desire (Prod. 40)

I should not be awake right now. I’m almost done with the album tho, so I might as well just go ahead and finish it. I’m gonna have a rough morning… Oh shit… This beat is dope af. Yeah, this isn’t Hip Hop. Why were people anticipating this album? I’m sorry. I just don’t get the hype… The production is carrying this entire album. 40 & Boi-1da are very talented. This is not for me. I liked the beat. I’d never listen to this shit again tho. The subject matter is absolutely not for me. Why am I listening to this? 2/5

Track 19: Views (Prod. Maneesh)

Views From The 6 16

Please rap. Drake. For the love of God. Rap. Oh shit. I think this is probably gonna be the best song on the album. Probably the only song I end up liking. This beat is dope af. This is one of those tracks with Drake rapping the whole time. Kinda like 30 For 30. I still think that was a better song than this. I’m actually enjoying this tho. Finally. A song that I like. I still don’t know how often I’ll be coming back to this, but this is easily the best track on the album. Honestly, I don’t think Drake will ever make a better song than Tuscan Leather. I liked this track tho. This is dope to me. 4/5

Track 20: Hotline Bling (Prod. Nineteen85)

Hotline Bling.gif

Nah. 1/5

Final Thoughts:

One. Only ONE fucking song. I only like ONE MOTHERFUCKING SONG. I can’t believe I stayed up listening to this bullshit. This isn’t a Hip Hop album. If you’re a Drake fan, definitely listen to this shit. You don’t need me to tell you that you’ll probably like this. Everyone else should just skim it. Unless you prefer Drake as an R&B artist. If you wanna hear Drake sing more, this is the album for you. 90% of this album is Pop & R&B. Needless to say, I wasn’t feelin’ this shit. This album is fucking WACK. I’m honestly surprised by how much I disliked this. I don’t think it’s the worst album I’ve ever heard, but I expected more from Drake. This was supposed to be his best album. People were so fucking excited for this shit. I hope his fans aren’t too disappointed. From what I’ve seen, the reception has been kinda negative, but I don’t really follow that many Drake dickriders. This album is too long by the way. 20 tracks is too long for an album. This shit was already pretty wack to me personally, but after the tenth track it started going downhill REAL fast. My friend is mad at me. I guess he doesn’t like the fact that I’m not ridin’ Drake’s dick. In fact, I TOLD him that he was on Drake’s dick. Guess what he told me? “It’s a nice dick.” I swear to God, those were his exact words. Apparently I don’t understand music. He told me that I need to “let Drake into my heart.” I’m sorry, but Drake will NEVER be inside any part of my body. Especially my heart. What the fuck is this motherfucker talkin’ about? “You listen to music weird. You keep mentioning all this shit that doesn’t matter. Like the lyrics.” I swear to God this is a real conversation that I’m having right now. I don’t fuckin’ believe this shit… He just asked me “If Drake came to your house, would you let him in?” What the fuck kinda question is that? I seriously think this motherfucker has an emotional connection with Drake or something. I said “no,” and then he called me a bitch. I just sneezed, and he said “shut up, lil’ bitch.” This is just pathetic… Anyway, pretty much everything I’ve ever said about Drake still applies. He’s not that good. The production carried this album. 40 deserves at least 51% of the money this album makes because without him this might have actually been one of the worst albums I’ve ever reviewed. He was thankfully here tho. That’s pretty much all I’ve got to say. I didn’t like this bullshit. Alright. I have school in about two hours. I’m going to sleep.

  1. Mr. October is such a fucking retard… Anyway, this is probably gonna be Drake’s worst album according to critics and a lot of his fans since it already has a 72 on metacritic with only 12 reviews, but I actually loved this album and is probably my favorite out of his discog. I thought the production was great, the flows and deliveries were good, pretty solid singing, I loved the aesthetic of the album, and I love the concept of the album. Good review though. I’ve never been a fan of his until IYRTITL mixtape. Keep up the good reviews man.

  2. Say what you will about Aubrey’s lyrics he has an (okay) ear for beats, the only reason Pimp C made it on here was because Drake is BFF’s with J. Prince’s (CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records) son and for some damn the reason the old man likes him too…..

Otherwise what we have here is an album made by a Roody Poo Candy Ass Jabroni for Roody Poo Candy Ass Jabroni’s.

After I finished listening track 18, I had to cut it off and clean my ears by listening to Above The Law’s 1992 conceptual gangsta space opera “Black Mafia Life: The Album” and Chicano Rap Godfather, Frost’s 1995 Ruthless Records debut “Smile Now, Die Later” (both albums still go hard since their respective drops…….) aside from that I really hope this project flops like a dead fish, who’s desperately gasping for air…..

    • Well, it’s apparently already sold 630,000 copies, but that’s to be expected since it’s Drake. A LOT of people seem to be disappointed by the album tho, so his hype might die down after this. However, I remember a lot of people being disappointed by If You’re Reading this too. As a matter of fact, now that I think about it, people seem to be disappointed by EVERY project Drake puts out. I don’t know why they always put him on a pedestal when he continuously disappoints his fans with lackluster albums.

      • Because Drake has a pretty good PR team that somehow is able to convince the poor saps, that this SHIT is actually good it astounds me really…..

I remember the days when emcees were able to sell millions opening week (Bone Thugs N Harmony’s “E. 1999 Eternal”, 2pac’s “All Eyez On Me”, the Luniz “Operation Stackola” come to mind…those were the good old days.

        • Yeah, it’s a shame that doper rappers don’t really seem to get as much attention or money, but musicians in general aren’t selling as much as they did back in the day since most people just pirate shit or stream it now.

          • And that’s truly the saddest fact of all….I think Jerry Heller (I heavily recommend his book, quite a rivetting read) said it best, streaming and the internet in general has become a double edged sword in terms of artists being able to make and lose money due to streaming services and piracy.

            • Yeah, hopefully somebody comes up with a way to enjoy music that benefits the actual artist more than streaming does. Anyway, thanks for reading my review. I might check out that shit that you mentioned too because I haven’t heard a lot of it.

Tell me if I'm trippin'
