This album was released September 2nd this year. One of my friends has been asking me to review it ever since it came out. I’ve been meaning to do that. Y’all should already know why I didn’t tho… Anyway, I’m expecting this to be trash. I already know that there’s at least one song on here that I’ll like tho. From what I’ve seen, people were incredibly disappointed by this album. I’m pretty sure it was originally a mixtape. That should’ve been the first red flag. Not to mention the countless delays it suffered from. I didn’t even like Rodeo, so if this is really that much worse, I’m probably gonna fucking hate it. The one track that I’ve heard from it is great tho. I’m expecting this to be wack. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Track 1: the ends (Prod. Vinylz, WondaGurl, Daxz & OZ)

Alright, here we go. It’s starting now. The production sounds pretty good so far. Travis is singing with autotune right now. I’m actually kinda enjoying this so far. It sounds pretty good. He’s rapping now. This beat is dope af. I enjoyed the first verse. I mean, it definitely wasn’t really good lyrically, but I didn’t mind it sonically and none of the lines were so bad that I wouldn’t ever wanna hear this shit again. I mean, I probably WOULDN’T come back to this shit again… It’s not really bad tho. It’s cool on the first listen. This hook is really underwhelming. What the fuck… Who the… Who the fuck is this rapping right now? Is… Is that fucking Andre 3000? Why the fuck wouldn’t you credit him? Oh no… ARE ALL OF THE FUCKING FEATURES ON THIS ALBUM UNCREDITED? Ugh… That’s so annoying… I guess it’s better than having no features at all tho. I don’t know if I’d be able to take 14 tracks of solo Travis Scott music. Anyway, I wasn’t really that impressed with Andre’s verse to be honest. I really liked the lyrics, but his flow and delivery didn’t really do anything for me. The song just ended… Huh… You know, that was actually a really underwhelming way to open up the album. The beat was cool, and it was nice to hear Andre 3000, but as an actual song this just isn’t really that good. I feel like if you just listen to the first 20 seconds of this song you can pretty much predict how the rest of it will sound. It wasn’t that bad tho. I just wouldn’t personally have the desire to listen to it again. It’s alright. 3/5

Track 2: way back (Prod. Hit-Boy, Cashmere Cat, C-Note, Chahayed & Mike Dean)

Okay, this should be good. Those production credits have me very excited for this track. It’s starting now. Oh God… Is that Chief Keef in the background? I think I hear Swizz Beats too. That’s annoying as fuck. This beat is dope tho. I was expecting it to be better than this given the production credits, but it’s still very good. Oh shit that’s Kid Cudi in the background, not Chief Keef. Lol. Wow. This… I don’t know. I feel like everything I said about the previous track applies to this one as well. This one’s even worse tho because it has Swizz Beatz’s annoying ass in the background. SHUT THE FUCK UP. Jesus Christ. Why the hell is he even on this shit? Oh shit. Okay, that beat switch after the first recital of the hook is awesome. This production is dope af. Fuck. I wish it was given to a better rapper. His flow on the second verse was cool. I would probably like this if it weren’t for the ridiculously annoying ad-libs. This is kinda like that Mac Miller album. If I could get an instrumental version of this I’d be happy. This isn’t really doing it for me tho. It’s alright. 3/5

Track 3: coordinate (Prod. TM88 & CuBeatz)

Who the fuck is this talking on the intro? That’s annoying as fuck… Travis is singing with autotune again. This is easily the most underwhelming beat on the album so far. This song as a whole is really underwhelming. Man… All of the songs on this album sound really similar. It’s just lazy singing with a fuck load of autotune. I don’t even like Rodeo, but at least the production was more varied. I don’t really think it sounds like Travis Scott is biting other people anymore. Well, I guess he’s still kinda biting Kid Cudi. He sounds like Kid Cudi if he started making uninspired Trap music with a fuck load of autotune. This is actually really boring. I don’t even know what else to say. It’s just not good. The melody was kinda cool at first, but it’s so repetitive. I’m not feelin’ this one. This is wack to me. 2/5

Track 4: through the late night (Prod. Cardo & CuBeatz)

Kid Cudi is moaning right now. This beat actually sounds different. Oh shit… Okay. Yes. This is dope. This beat is dope af, and the hook is actually catchy. Kid Cudi’s on the first verse. He has autotune on his voice. His feature seems kinda unnecessary. He just sounds like Travis Scott. That’s not really something I’d take off points for tho. The lyrics on his verse were absurd. Travis’ interpolation of Day N Nite at the beginning of his verse was pretty cool. This song would probably be really fun to perform at shows. WHAT?? HAHAHAHAHAHA. “Stroke my cactus.” WHAAAAAT? WHAT THE FUCK? HAHAHA. Oh my God. Wow. That was good. That was a good one. Alright the song just ended. I like this one. The hook is catchy and the beat is dope af. I enjoyed the verses sonically too. This is dope. 4/5

Track 5: beibs in the trap (Prod. Nav)

What the fuck? Who the fuck is this? Oh shit… That’s Nav. Eh… His voice is kinda annoying, but I got used to it pretty quickly. This beat’s dope. I’m not feelin’ the first verse from Nav. I actually like the way Travis Scott sounds on the second verse. His flow isn’t really doing anything for me. Meh… This is just another decent song. I’d never listen to this again. It’s not really that bad tho. It just gets boring after the first few seconds. The melody of the hook is pretty repetitive, and of course neither of their flows or bars are good. The only thing that really impressed me about this track was the production. It’s alright I guess. 3/5

Track 6: sdp interlude (Prod. Ricci Riera)

Oh fuck… This beat is dope af. OH FUUUCK. Wow. This is definitely my favorite beat on the album so far. This SHIT IS CRAZY. FUUUCK. GOTDAMN. Uh oh… Ummm… Nah. Lmao. Nah, I’m not feelin’ these vocals. Apparently that’s Cassie singing. Hmm. Well, it actually doesn’t sound that bad once the bass comes back in. Okay, I see why this was labeled as an interlude now. There’s literally only one line in this whole song. “Smoke some, drink some, pop one.” Only a Trap rapper could get away with something like that. Well, actually I could see Kanye doing something like this. Or Kid Cudi. I actually really like this track. I kinda wish the beat was given to a better rapper, but I feel like I could say that about literally any Travis Scott song ever. This is dope to me tho. 4/5

Track 7: sweet sweet (Prod. Murda Beatz, CuBeatz, Mike Dean & WondaGurl)

Okay, this beat is really dope too. The hook is kinda catchy I guess. I’m really starting to get tired of all this autotune. The first verse wasn’t very good. I guess nobody really expects Travis Scott to spit a good verse tho. Man, this beat is REALLY dope. You know what? Honestly… I actually like this song. The production is great, and the hook is really catchy too. The lyrics kinda made me cringe, but that’s to be expected from an artist like this. I fuck with this song. This is dope to me. 4/5

Track 8: outside (Prod. Murda Beatz, OZ & Nisi)

This beat is cool I guess. It actually kinda just sounds like an altered version of the previous beat. I like it tho. The hook is alright. The first two verses weren’t good. Oh wow. Hahahaha. 21 Savage is on the third verse. LMAO. I’m sorry, but I just can’t take this guy seriously. His verse was so bad. Hahahaha. “Plus I get inside that bowl and skurt, skurt, skurt / Hit it from the back pull up her skirt… / I just copped that Bentley truck I skurt, skurt, skurt / Bitch, I’m outside on the percs, percs, percs.” Hahahaha. “21 21 21” Nah. Hell nah. His verse was wack. I’m not feelin’ this song. The only thing I like about it is the hook. Pretty much everything else about this track is decent at best. The 21 Savage verse was hilarious. Not in a good way tho. This shit is wack to me. 2/5

Track 9: goosebumps (Prod. Cardo, Yung Exclusive, CuBeatz & Mike Dean)

This beat is dope. The hook is actually pretty catchy too. I wasn’t completely sold on it at first because Travis was just mumbling, but it gets better after a few seconds. The first verse was fine. What the fuck? Kendrick is goin’ in now… Wow. I did not expect that lol. What the FUCK? HAHAHAHAHA. WHAT THE FUCK? The way he’s using his voice is insane on this track. It’s weird as hell. His verse actually wasn’t that good. It was better than Travis Scott’s verse tho. Hahaha. Jesus. I don’t know man… This… I mean, it was kinda cool at first, but it just gets old so quickly. There’s absolutely no replay value in this track for me. That was definitely the most underwhelming Kendrick Lamar feature I’ve heard in a long time too. This is an alright track. I like the beat. The hook was cool at first, but I got tired of it pretty quickly. Meh. 3/5

Track 10: first take (Prod. Sy Ari Da Kid, TEAUXNY, Illa Jones & Mel & Mus)

I’m kinda surprised by how much I don’t hate this album so far. I didn’t really like Rodeo, but this honestly isn’t really that bad to me. Well, I guess Rodeo wasn’t really that bad either. I think I might be enjoying this one even more tho. I don’t even know why. I think he’s taking fewer risks. It’s kinda making the album more boring, but at the same time it feels more consistent. I think the features are a lot less wack too. I wouldn’t call them good tho. Just less bad. Alright, this track is starting now. What the fuck? Oh God… Okay, this might actually end up being my least favorite track on the album lol. The beat is dope af, but Travis Scott’s singing over it, and it sounds BAD. What the fuck? He sounds so off beat. This is… Wow. This is actually REALLY bad. The first verse is better, but why the fuck are his ad-libs so loud? What the fuck is this shit? I kinda like the way he sounded on the verses, but this fucking hook is absolutely terrible. No, man… I can’t do this shit… It’s so bad. Now Bryson Tiller is singing. No. This is… The beat is nice. It was just completely ruined by Travis Scott moaning with a fuck load of autotune on his voice. What the fuck is he doing on this track? I’m not a fan of Bryson Tiller either… If someone was just rapping over this beat normally it would probably be decent. I just can’t fuck with this shit. This is wack af to me. 1/5

Track 11: pick up the phone (Prod. Vinylz, Frank Dukes, Allen Ritter & Mike Dean)

Pick Up The Phone

I already talked about this track when I reviewed Jeffery by Young Thug. I really like it. The beat is dope af, and the hook is really catchy. This is definitely the best song on the album. This might actually be my favorite Travis Scott song. I like everything about this track. Well, that’s not true. The lyrics obviously don’t really do anything for me. That’s to be expected from a Travis Scott song tho. This is dope af sonically. Young Thug actually sounded good, and I even liked Quavo’s verse too. Honestly, Quavo had the best verse on the whole song. I don’t even really fuck with the Migos, aside from Takeoff. I think Takeoff is actually a talented rapper. Quavo & Offset usually don’t really do much for me. Quavo sounded great on this shit tho. This track is dope af to me. 5/5

Track 12: lose (Prod. Vinylz, Frank Dukes, Allen Ritter & Mike Dean)

Okay, I’m ready for this album to be over now. Oh shit. This beat is dope af. Uhhh… What the fuck is Travis Scott doing? I’m so tired of hearing this fool just moan with autotune all over his voice. I just wanna hear someone rap normally. This is so fucking boring. This whole album is pretty much just a waste of good beats. This hook sounds pretty good tho. Oh shit he’s finally rapping. I wish it was someone else. BRUUUH. What the fuck? What the fuck is this? This is so fucking boring. Jesus fucking Christ. I feel like I’ve been listening to Travis Scott spit the same exact verse on every song. “Stroke my cactus” is the only interesting thing he’s said on this album. I’m sorry, y’all. I can’t fuck with this song. This is boring as fuck. The beat is great, but aside from that this shit is wack to me. 2/5

Track 13: guidance (Prod. dF)

Noooooo. Nooo. What the fuck… Who the hell is this? Oh. It’s some guy named K. Forest. I don’t like the way this song starts so abruptly. The beat is kinda cool tho. No. No more autotune. Please. Stop. Stop the autotune. I feel like a robot has been jizzing in my ear. That’s what all this autotune feels like. K. Forest must be a Dancehall artist. This song is so fucking repetitive. I need this shit to be over. How. HOW? How have I only been listening to this song for 2 minutes? I feel like I’ve been listening to the same shit for hours. I can’t do this anymore. This shit is wack to me. 2/5

Trakc 14: Wonderful (Prod. Travis Scott, T-Minus, Boi-1da & Mike Dean)

Wonderful.jpg

Oh my God. Finally. The last song. Thank God. Okay, it’s starting now. Oh shitfuck… This beat is dope af. I’m so tired of Travis Scott’s voice. You can really tell that this album was originally a mixtape. Oh shit. The Weeknd’s singing now. He actually doesn’t sound that good. I don’t know. I just don’t really think he sounds good over this production. Nah. I don’t even wanna listen to this shit anymore. I’m just so done with this album, man. It’s not even that fucking bad. It’s just so not good. Does that make sense? I’m so bored right now. I can’t do this. No more autotune. I can’t listen to anymore autotune. I need to wash my ears out. This shit is wack to me. 2/5

Final Thoughts:

This album is not good. I actually enjoyed it more than Rodeo tho. I don’t even know how. This album wasn’t really that bad to me until I got to the second half. It’s really fucking boring. The only thing that I think was really good about this album was the production. A lot of these beats were fantastic to me. I just can’t get into Travis Scott tho. He didn’t even really rap on this album. I feel like 90% of this project was just him moaning with a fuck load of autotune on his voice. I definitely understand why people like Rodeo so much more than this. He seemed far more creative on that project. This album kinda just feels like any other generic Trap album. He should’ve just left this as a mixtape. His next album is supposed to be called AstroWorld. I doubt I’ll enjoy it since I’ve never enjoyed any of his work. I’ll give it a chance tho. I guess. This album isn’t really that bad to me. It’s mediocre at best tho…

Favorite Song: pick up the phone

Least Favorite Song: first take

  1. I……..got nothing, I like some of his stuff in small doses otherwise. It’s just pure basura with an annoying amount of auto tune and semi-decent production. I’ll give this album a 4.5/10 lol
