This album was released on November 2nd this year. I’m gonna be honest; I’m actually expecting this to be a pretty good album. Takeoff is easily my favorite member of the Migos. He’s the most technically skilled rapper in the group. I definitely don’t think this’ll be anywhere near as bad as QUAVO HUNCHO. Even if I don’t end up liking it, it’s not nearly as long as Quavo’s album, so I won’t have to suffer for too long. I really think the Migos have been over-saturating the market. I didn’t listen to their sequel to Culture, and I probably never will. I heard a few singles from it, and it sounds really phoned in. Hopefully Takeoff actually took his time with this project. We’ll see.
1. Martian produced by DJ Durel
I like the way this track starts with the people counting down for the rocket to take off. The production is pretty bad though. This beat is really lackluster. The hook on this track is pretty underwhelming. The verse was kinda cool, but it’s not good enough to make this track worth returning to. This is a pretty disappointing start to the album. It’s a really dull song. Nothing about it stands out in a positive way. I don’t think it’s that bad, but it definitely isn’t good. This shit is mediocre to me.
2. She Gon’ Wink featuring Quavo produced by DJ Durel
The beat on this track is average. The autotuned hook from Quavo sounds really generic. It sounds like something Travis Scott would do. The first verse from Takeoff was alright. The second verse from Quavo sucks. This is a super generic song. There’s really not a single aspect of this song that I actually like. Everything about it is average at best. This is worse than the previous track. This shit is wack to me. I’m offended by how generic it sounds.
3. None to Me produced by DY Krazy, Gezin & TM88
The beat on this track is decent I guess. The hook really isn’t doin’ much for me. I really don’t like Takeoff’s melodic delivery on this track. There’s only one verse on the song, and it’s not very good. I wasn’t feelin’ his flow. I think this is a slightly more tolerable track than the previous one, but it’s still not something I’d ever wanna hear again. It’s just another generic Trap song. Nothing about it really stands out in a positive way. This shit is mediocre to me.
4. Vacation produced by Murda Beatz & CuBeatz
I actually kinda like the beat on this track. I think the hook’s kinda cool too. This is definitely the best song on the album so far. I still don’t think it’s that great though. The first verse was decent. The second verse is okay I guess. He doesn’t really say anything interesting on this track, but his flow is decent. Like I said, this is the most entertaining song so far. It’s still kind of boring though. This isn’t something I’ll be returning to. It’s not that good. It’s decent though.
5. Last Memory produced by MonstaBeatz
This was the only single released from this album before its release. It’s definitely the best song on the album so far. I really like the light, electronic influenced production. The hook’s decent. There’s only one verse. It’s okay. His flow is kinda cool. I kind of enjoyed this track, but I don’t know if I’d ever wanna come back to it. Again, the production’s cool. Nothing else about the song really stands out that much though. It’s an okay track. It’s my favorite song so far. It’s still not that good to me though.
6. I Remember produced by Smoke Screen & Murda Beatz
The beat on this track is pretty solid. The repetitive hook is nothing special, but it’s fine I guess. The first verse was okay. His flow was kinda cool. He doesn’t really have anything interesting to say though. The more I listen to the repetitive hook, the less I like it. I kinda liked his flow on the second verse. This is an okay track I guess. It’s definitely not one of the worst songs on the project. It’s just kind of bland to me. I won’t be returning to it. It’s not very good to me.
7. Lead the Wave produced by DJ Durel
This beat is pretty decent. The hook is pretty repetitive, just like with the previous song. I kinda liked Takeoff’s flow on the first verse, but other than that it’s not that interesting. Same goes for the second verse. It’s just kind of a boring song. I really don’t have anything to say about this track. I feel the same way about it as I did the previous few tracks. It’s dull to me. I won’t be listening to it again.
8. Casper produced by Cassius Jay & Nonstop da Hitman
I like the beat on this track. The repetitive hook is doing absolutely nothing for me though. The first verse was nothing special. I wasn’t even really impressed by his flow at all. The second verse was a little better, but it’s still not that good to me. The flute in the beat sounds pretty good, but I wish it was a little more prominent. This is a pretty uninteresting track. The production gets old really quickly. I’m not gonna listen to this shit again. It’s mediocre to me.
9. Insomnia produced by Buddah Bless
This track has the same exact beat as Neighbor by Juicy J & Travis Scott, which I actually kinda like. I’d much rather listen to that song than this one. The hook is nothing special, and Takeoff’s flow on the verse is nothing special. There’s only one verse, and it’s not very impressive to me. Nothing about this track stands out in a positive way. I don’t even have anything to say about it. It’s just another super insipid Trap song that I’ll never listen to ever again.
10. Infatuation featuring Dayytona Fox produced by Masked Man
This track is a bizarre change of pace from the rest of the songs on this album. It’s a super poppy song. The vocals from Dayytona Fox are pretty decent. This sounds like an 80s Pop song. I don’t really like the interlude after the hook where Dayytona Fox just says a bunch of random words, like “love, music, loyalty, infatuation.” The hook sounds pretty good though. His sung verse sounds decent. I’m gonna be honest… This is actually probably my favorite song on the album so far. It’s not a generic Trap song. It’s a poppy 80s inspired love song. It’s a pretty catchy track. I actually kinda like this. I don’t think it’s that great, but I definitely enjoyed it to a certain extent. It’s dope to me.
11. Soul Plane produced by Cassius Jay
This beat isn’t really doing anything for me. I don’t care for the hook either. The first verse was boring. This is one of the blandest songs on the whole album so far. The second verse wasn’t very good. Jesus Christ. This album is not good. Takeoff is still my favorite Migo, but all of these songs are just super boring. This is one of the most generic songs on the entire project. It’s super boring. I’m not feelin’ it. I don’t even have anything to say about it. It’s just a super dull Trap song with zero replay value.
12. Bruce Wayne produced by Cassius Jay & Wheezy
The beat on this song is actually kinda dope. It was kinda humanizing to hear Takeoff rapping about being nervous the first time he performed on a stage. I don’t really care for his melodic delivery and his slow paced flow though. I just listened to this entire song. It’s not very good. The only aspect of this track that I liked even a little bit was the production, which really isn’t even that great. This is another boring song that I won’t ever listen to again.
