This album was released on February 22nd this year. This is probably gonna go down as one of the most hated albums of 2019. Lil Pump is one of the most hated rappers out right now. This may come as a surprise to some of my followers, but I actually like Lil Pump. I think he’s a genius. He pretty much embodies everything people hate about Hip Hop. I think it’s really smart of him to exaggerate how ignorant he is in order to piss people off. I love how angry he makes Hip Hop purists. I fuck with Lil Pump way more than Lil Yachty. Lil Pump’s music is at least tolerable sonically. There’s absolutely nothing enjoyable about Lil Yachty’s music to me. Lil Pump is funny to me though. It’s like the difference between Riff Raff and Lil B. Riff Raff’s music is hilariously bad. Lil B’s music is just bad. I can turn on Lil Pump’s music and laugh at it. If I hear a Lil B song or a Lil Yachty song it just makes me wish I didn’t have the ability to hear. I enjoy Lil Pump’s music for what it is, but there’s a reason I never checked out his self titled mixtape. I don’t know that I’ll enjoy listening to a full project from him. As funny as I think he is, he’s a very one dimensional artist. There are only a handful of songs by him that I truly enjoy. D. Rose & Flex Like OUU are my shit. Gucci Gang is one of his most popular songs, but that one isn’t that good to me. It’s kind of boring honestly. I’m definitely not expecting this album to be good, but I’m sure there’ll be at least a handful of songs that I like. I’ve heard some of the singles, and it sounds decent so far. I don’t think I’m gonna hate this as much as most people do. I might be wrong though.
1. Drop Out produced by Diablo
This beat is actually kinda hard. It sounded really shitty at first, but once the bass comes in it sounds a lot better. His flow is catchy as hell on the hook. There’s only one verse on this song. It’s nothing special, but it had a few lines that I liked. That one about how the lunch lady gave him dirty Faygo was funny to me. Ehhh… The longer I listen to this beat the shittier it sounds. I still like the hook though. I fuck with this track. It’s dope.
2. Nu Uh produced by MISOGI, Danny Wolf, David Morse & Andrew Canton
I pretty much have the same exact opinion of this instrumental that I did for the previous one. It’s kind of a crappy, electronic influenced Trap beat with a lot of heavy bass. Ehhh… This hook isn’t that good to me. Once again, there’s only one verse. I like the line about how he found his teacher on Backpage, but aside from that nothing else about it really stands out. This track isn’t very good honestly. I don’t think it’s a bad song, but it could’ve used a little work. My main issue with it is the production honestly. The beat sucks. This is mediocre to me.
3. I Love It featuring Kanye West produced by Kanye West, DJ Clark Kent, CBMix & Ronny J
Okay, this is where things really get bad… This song is pure trash. I’m actually appalled that there are people who genuinely seem to enjoy it. There’s absolutely nothing good about this song. There’s not a single aspect of it that I can compliment. Actually, that’s not true. I don’t completely hate the single art. That’s it as far as positives go though. To me Kanye’s decision to work with Lil Pump comes off as a desperate reach for clout. I don’t think he actually likes Lil Pump’s music. I feel like he literally just chose to do a song with him because he’s popular right now. The beat on this track is boring as hell. It sounds like an altered version of the Rack City instrumental. The hook from Lil Pump is super underwhelming too. I’m sure you all know how it goes by now. It’s super boring though. Same goes for his melodic verse. The melody itself just isn’t very good to me. Kanye’s verse was surprisingly worse though. He’s actually rapping instead of singing, but the verse is so bad. He starts it off by repeating the same line five times. The entire thing is pretty much just him admitting that he’s a pervert. And then the song ends. I really don’t see the appeal of this song. What is there to like about this shit? Absolutely nothing about it stands out in a positive way. This is one of the worst songs I’ve heard from Kanye, and that’s saying a lot because he’s made some horrific songs in the past. This track is fucking dogshit though. I hate it.
4. ION featuring Smokepurpp produced by Smokepurpp, Diablo & CBMix
I’m not really that familiar with Smokepurpp. I don’t think I’ve ever actually heard any of his music. I listened to his XXL freshman freestyle though. It wasn’t good. The beat on this track is decent. The hook isn’t that good. The first verse from Smokepurpp wasn’t good either. He literally just sounds like Lil Pump 2.0. If nobody told me there was a feature on this song I would probably think the whole thing was done by Lil Pump because they sound so similar. Yeah… This song sucks honestly. The beat gets really annoying after a while, and the hook is pretty irritating too. None of the verses on this track have any interesting lines. I don’t like a single aspect of this song. Nothing about it stands out in a positive way. I’m not feelin’ this shit. It’s wack to me.
5. Fasho Fasho featuring Offset produced by CBMix
The beat on this track is kinda cool. The hook isn’t very good though. That line about how he thinks he “damaged” his brain from doing too much molly was funny to me. Like, why did he think that was something worth bragging about? It’s also funny because you know that’s not gonna stop him from doing more molly in the future. I love how stupid Lil Pump is. I just wish he could take that stupidity and make more interesting music with it. I think the main reason I haven’t been enjoying this project is because of the lackluster production. If these beats were better I’d probably be able to fuck with the album. Offset’s verse wasn’t as entertaining as Lil Pump’s lyrically, but his flow was a bit more interesting. I don’t like this song at all. I think it’s a step up from the previous track, but it’s not even close to being good. This shit is mediocre to me.
6. Racks on Racks produced by Diablo & Diamond Pistols
I definitely fuck with this track. I see why he chose it as a single. It’s easily the best song on the album so far. The beat is actually really dope—although it sounds a little too similar to Don’t Play by Travis Scott—and the hook is great. I actually like the verse too. His flow is nice.
Told that bitch let me sniff coke off her asshole
I’m not really sure how I feel about that line. It definitely seems like something Lil Pump would do, but I… I just don’t see why you would want to do that. That sounds very unpleasant. The line about how he thinks he has some molly stuck in his tooth was cool though. I don’t really have any issues with this track. I’m glad there’s only one verse. If it was any longer it probably would’ve gotten old really quickly. Anyway, I fuck with this song. It’s dope.
7. Off White produced by Fizzle
I actually like this beat. It kinda reminds me of a DJ Mustard beat though. I’m not sure how I feel about this hook. It’s one of those situations where it’s so bad that it’s good. Actually, forget what I just said. It’s not good. There’s only one verse on this track, and it’s really short. I liked the line where he claims to be dyslexic. The one where he said he lost his six pack after he started sipping lean was cool too. This song fucking sucks though. The simplistic production was decent, but the hook is wack as hell. I think this is one of the weaker songs on the album so far. It’s really bad.
8. Butterfly Doors produced by CBMix
This was one of the first singles I heard for this album, and it’s actually pretty good. I like the simplistic production & hook. Once again, there’s only one verse. I like it though. There aren’t really any standout lines, but I like his flow and the ad-libs are cool too. It’s a really simple track. There’s not a lot going on. It’s one of those songs that’d be a lot better if I was high. That can be said about pretty much every song in existence though, so that means nothing. I can see why people would think this was a stale, uninteresting track. I enjoyed it though. It’s dope to me.
9. Too Much Ice featuring Quavo produced by DJ Tree Gotti
The beat on this track is alright I guess. I like the repetitive hook from Lil Pump. The first verse didn’t really do anything for me to be honest. The longer I listen to this beat the more I hate it. It fucking sucks honestly. Quavo’s verse was wack. He should be embarrassed that Lil Pump had a more entertaining verse than him. This song is really bad overall though. The beat is trash, and the hook gets pretty old after a while. Lil Pump’s actual verse is my favorite aspect of the song, and it’s not even that good. This shit is wack.
10. Multi Millionaire featuring Lil Uzi Vert produced by Danny Wolf, Dilip Venkatesh & Hanzo
This is a really old song. I’m pretty sure it came out halfway through last year. I think it’s solid though. I didn’t like it the first time I heard it, but it’s grown on me. I like the electronic sounding Trap beat, and the repetitive hook is cool. The way he pronounces “multimillionaire” makes him sound really dumb, which is a good thing. I liked Lil Pump’s verse too. Lil Uzi’s weird voice usually pisses me off, but I like the way it sounds over this beat. It’s a nice contrast from Lil Pump’s voice too. I fuck with this song. It’s definitely not one of my favorite tracks, but I enjoyed it to some extent. It’s dope to me.
11. Vroom Vroom Vroom produced by Ronny J & CuBeatz
Lmao. This song is so fucking stupid. This is one of those situations where the music is so bad that I can’t help but like it. I wish every song on the album was this stupid. I actually really like the verse too. I like how amateurish it sounds. It’s not as technical as a lot of his other verses on this project.
You gon’ rob me? Hahaha
Bitch, I’m laughing at you
Black Lamborghini look like Batman
It go vroom vroom vroom
The song’s short as hell. I kinda wish the verse was a little longer, but I still think this is one of the best songs on the album so far. It’s probably gonna be one of the most hated tracks just because it’s so dumb, but that’s why I like it. A lot of the other tracks sound a little too polished. This one’s good though. I fuck with this. It’s dope.
12. Be Like Me featuring Lil Wayne produced by CBMix
Man, this beat is REALLY shitty. The hook is really fuckin’ bad. It’s so bad that I can’t help but like it. He’s claiming that everybody wants to be like him. The fact that a decent amount of people probably do wanna be like him is really sad. He’s basically a clone of Padlock Jones. He’s like Tyler the Creator’s Young Nigga character.
Everybody wanna be like Pump
Everybody got fake dreads and love to take drugs
He’s pretty much pointing out how generic the current wave of new artists is. I like Lil Pump’s delivery on the first verse. This track is starting to grow on me. I don’t mind the shitty production that much. I like the first verse a lot.
I take drugs like it’s vitamin C
I’m a millionaire, but I don’t know how to read
I’m a role model that these kids wanna be
I just smashed a pregnant bitch that’s overseas
Lil Wayne’s verse was actually really good to be honest. I like how aggressive his flow was. I was kinda worried at first because he was singing a little bit with autotune, and it sounded really bad. He started rapping for real after a few bars though. It makes a lot of sense for Lil Wayne to be on this track since so many of today’s artists are clones of him. I like this track. It’s far from my favorite song on the album, but I enjoyed it. I like both of the verses, and the hook is shitty in a cool way. The production sucks, but it’s not bad enough to ruin the song for me. This is dope.
13. Stripper Name featuring YG & 2 Chainz produced by Fizzle
The beat on this track is pretty weird… Not in a cool way though. It’s really bad honestly. This is probably the worst beat on the whole album, and that’s saying a lot because most of these beats are terrible. The repetitive hook isn’t very good either. The first verse from Lil Pump wasn’t good. There weren’t even any lines that stood out to me. YG’s verse was absolute trash. Dude fell off HARD. It’s sad that he had a worse verse than Lil Pump and he seems to take himself somewhat seriously as a rapper. 2 Chainz’s verse was pretty bad too. Man, this song fucking sucks. There’s not a single aspect of this track that I like even a little bit. This is definitely one of the worst songs on the album. It’s wack af.
14. Drug Addicts produced by Dee Money & Baby Winsch
This song came out a LONG ass time ago, but I haven’t actually heard it yet. I kinda like how heavy the bass is on this track. The beat itself is kinda lackluster though. The hook is very underwhelming. His flow is super boring. Damn. He uses that same flow for the entire verse. He has a line about wiping nut off of a girl with his sweater. Why the fuck would you do that? I don’t know about y’all, but personally I wouldn’t want nut on my clothes.
I been smokin’ since I was 11
I been poppin’ pills since I was seven
Told my pastor I don’t do confessions
‘Cause I pop a lot of molly for my breakfast
I like how the song glorifies drug use. That’s always appreciated. This isn’t very enjoyable for me though. It’s pretty boring. I don’t think it’s a bad song, but it’s far from good. This shit is mediocre to me.
15. Esskeetit produced by CBMix
I’m pretty sure this is a really old single too, but I haven’t heard it before. I’m not really feelin’ the bouncy production. It sounds like something DJ Mustard would do. The hook isn’t really that entertaining to me. Nothing about the first verse really stands out to me in a positive way. The line about a girl showing her boobies on Skype was kinda cool, but other than that it was pretty uninteresting. This is one of the only songs I’ve ever heard from Lil Pump that has more than one verse without any features. The second verse was definitely better. It’s the same verse that he spit for his XXL freshman freestyle. This song was actually out when he did that. I liked it better during the freestyle because it seemed dumber. It sounds good on this track though. His flow was kinda nice. However, this song doesn’t really do anything for me. It’s kinda boring. I don’t like the beat or the hook, and there aren’t really any funny lines. This shit is mediocre to me.
16. Who Dat produced by CBMix
I just listened to this whole song. It feels really unnecessary honestly. It’s not a good way to end the album. I like how crappy and simplistic the production is, but the hook is pretty boring. The one verse on this song is pretty uninteresting too. I liked the line about how he doesn’t pay taxes despite being rich, but nothing else about the song stands out. I think this song is on par with most of the other tracks on this project. It’s mediocre to me.
This album isn’t good, but that shouldn’t come as a surprise. It’s mediocre to me. There are a decent handful of songs that I like, but there’s a lot of trash here too. Lil Pump is still one of my favorite wack rappers, but this album feels a little too polished. It lacks the simplicity of signature singles like D. Rose. A lot of Pump’s earlier work was so bad that I couldn’t help but be enamored by it. A lot of these songs on this album are just bad in a boring and generic way. I generally enjoy Lil Pump for the novelty. A lot of these songs sound like they could be taken seriously as Trap songs. They don’t sound that different from anything anyone else is doing. It’s like he became too polished. I got a decent handful of enjoyable songs out of it, so I don’t think it’s a complete failure. I think he can do better though. This shit is mediocre.
Favorite Song: Vroom Vroom Vroom
Least Favorite Song: I Love It
