This song was released on August 2nd this year. Personally, I was not familiar with Mudbaby Ru at all before hearing this track. I had never even heard of him, so I really did not know what this song would sound like. All I knew was that he’s from West Memphis, Arkansas. I looked him up and saw that he has amassed a quite sizable following. I think the reason I hadn’t heard of him is because this style is generally kind of a blind spot for me. Most of the shit I listen to and write about does not sound like this. I really loved this song in particular though.

The dark production kinda reminds me of Lukah‘s DEAD HORSES, which was my favorite song on Raw Extractions. It’s not really the same, but it had kind of the same effect on me. What really sold me on this track is Mudbaby Ru’s flow though. This dude is FIRE, man. His flow is so fucking good. It’s really masterful shit. It’s basically impossible for me to hear him rapping on this song and not move. He sounds incredible. He’s also got a really good voice. The lyrics are hard as fuck too. The Young Dro line was fire. I loved pretty much ever bar though. Well, there were a lot of lines where I couldn’t really understand exactly what he was saying, but I still loved them because of the way they sounded, and what I could make out was fire. I liked the line about how he’s gonna do his lil dance when the opp gets dropped. That’s fire. The craziest part of the song comes in the form of the final verse though. This motherfucker really got a feature from Siri. That’s right. Siri raps on this song. It’s the actual robot voice of Siri, and her flow is dope.

It should not work as well as it does. I swear to God, my jaw actually dropped the moment I heard that shit. I was in disbelief. It’s so dope. This is honestly one of my favorite singles of the year.
