This song was just released this year on April 1st. I’m still pretty new to PreauXX as an artist; I’d only heard one song by the Memphis-based rapper prior to listening to this track, but I was pleased with what I got here.

I really dig the kind of pillowy, soft, sample-based production from LEE MVRS, and Preauxx’s melodic vocal delivery over it sounds great to me. The storytelling about being hungover on the first verse is really well done too.

The vocals on the hook sound really smooth, but it’s not really something I would write home about. The second verse is the main part of the song that stands out to me. He kinda picks up his flow a bit and spits with a more lively rhythm. I really appreciate how he doesn’t recycle the same flow throughout this song. There’s actually some variation and it feels like there’s a natural progression rather than a stagnant cadence. The lyrics on the second verse are even better than that of the first in my opinion as well.

It’s a very good song to me overall. I think I would enjoy it even more in the context of a full project, and I honestly liked the last song that I heard from him, Face Your Fears, slightly more. This one’s definitely worth checking out though if you’re looking for a smooth, melodic Southern Hip Hop vibe. Check it out.
