This EP was released on December 14th in 2018. This is the third EP Big K.R.I.T. has dropped since November 16th. I don’t know how I’m gonna feel about this project. The THRICE X EP he dropped was pretty nice, but I wasn’t really impressed by the DOUBLE DOWN project he released after that. It was an okay EP though. It wasn’t bad. I just wasn’t that crazy about it. I don’t think this’ll be a wack project, but I’m not gonna get my hopes up too high.
1. 4 tha Three produced by Mark Byrd, 5ive 9 & Charity Work
The production on this track is fantastic. This is probably the best beat out of all the songs K.R.I.T. released in 2018. The hook is really simplistic, but it works. The first verse was pretty good. He didn’t really say anything that stands out that much, but his flow was nice. The same thing can be said about the second verse. I definitely enjoyed this song sonically. I love the production, and K.R.I.T.’s flow was great. It’s not super impressive lyrically, but it’s still pretty good. This shit is dope to me.
2. 1 Oh Oh produced by Jim Jonsin
The production on this track is really fuckin’ great. So far this is the best produced EP out of the three Big K.R.I.T. dropped last year. The beat is phenomenal, and the hook is pretty solid too. The song doesn’t have the most interesting content, but it’s certainly not bad. K.R.I.T.’s just rapping about a girl he’s in a relationship with. His flow on the first verse is really dope. The second verse was cool too. This song isn’t amazing or anything, but I definitely enjoyed it. It sounded like there were some uncredited vocals from Rico Love on the outro, which were nice. It’s a dope track. I fuck with this.
3. Energy produced by Danja
This song has a really good beat too. The hook is nothing special, but it works. The first verse is cool. It’s not super impressive, but I enjoyed it I guess. The second verse was definitely better, but it still wasn’t that great. I liked it though. This is definitely the least interesting song on the project, but I still like it. It’s not bad at all. It’s just not super memorable. Nothing about it really stands out that much. I like it to some extent though. It’s kinda dope.
This is a pretty good EP. It’s far from a must listen project, but I think it’s sufficient. Fans of Big K.R.I.T. will definitely appreciate it. It’s definitely more entertaining than Double Down to me, but I still like Thrice X the most. I was kind of surprised by how good the production on these three tracks was. I think all of the beats are really good. I wasn’t super impressed by K.R.I.T.’s rapping at all, but it was sufficient. I think this is a solid collection of songs. I enjoyed it. This is dope.
