This song was released on July 30th. I first started following Vice Souletric in 2020 when he released his T.R.A.P. album, which was produced by DJ Flash. He seems to be making a lot of really strong connections behind the scenes because he’s already worked with a lot of legendary artists such as Elzhi & Nottz, and now we have this Pete Rock single. This is the title track for his upcoming album, Vice for President 4, which he’s been promoting for a couple years at this point. In 2021 he released a pretty solid instrumental album called Passion Speaks Louder Than Words. There’s some cool stuff on there, so I’d definitely say it’s worth checking out. Anyway, I don’t really know why, but I just had a feeling that I would really enjoy this new song in particular, and that thankfully ended up being the case.

The beat here from Pete Rock is actually really fucking awesome. I love how gritty and emotional the first part of it is. It sounds like kind of a throwback beat from the 2000s to me. Then it kinda switches up for the actual verses from Vice. I’ve always thought he was nice on the mic, but I feel like he’s vastly improved as an MC since his last rap album. I was hooked as soon as he started spitting with that “without further ado I murder the loop” line. His voice sounds really good over this beat too. Each verse is better than the last. The song’s almost four minutes, but since the beat is completely different for the hook than it is for the verses, it doesn’t feel like it overstays its welcome at all. It keeps things exciting. The final verse is definitely my favorite part of the song. He switched his flow up a bunch of times, and his lyricism was tight.

I got the kinda product make the industry reopen
Got the subject matter to challenge a theologian
I created another world complete with oceans
The ripple effect what comes next

This actually has me pretty excited for the full album because I’m loving this track. The production is fantastic, and Vice rocked it really nicely. Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments. I think it’s dope as hell personally.
