This is the first episode of a new series I’m doing. It’s basically just me talking to people for about an hour and some change. I’ve done interviews in the past, but I’m kinda aiming for a different dynamic here. I’m also gonna be doing it not only with rappers and producers, but other commentators, journalists, graphic designers, chill people, etc. Ok, the caveat with the “chill people” one is that they have to at least have some relevance to the show. I don’t think someone like S.R. Guru would meet the criteria because he’s just a guy I know, and he’s not really super into music or art in general. I mean, he likes video games a lot, so maybe it could work, but I don’t know. I’m kinda working out details as I go, so this is subject to change. In a nutshell, it’s a show where I talk to people and listen to them nerd out about the art they’re passionate about. It’s called Mellow Marsh Meetings. Shoutout to ¡Jay Hill! for the help with thinking of a name.
Anyway, for my first episode I had Charlotte-based rapper/producer Prologue on as my guest. I met him at the end of September when he performed a set at Mike Digi’s free monthly artist showcase, Digital Graffiti. In this episode we chatted about his journey of falling in love with music, his metamorphosis into a producer, some of his favorite artists, and his peculiar experiences at Waffle House and rap concerts. There’s also some footage of the aforementioned performance included at a couple points.
To be clear, MMM is not operating on a schedule, so I don’t know when the next episode will be. I am making this a thing just so I have an excuse to record conversations I have with different artists. I’m already in contact with many about future episodes, so stay tuned. Lemme know what you think of this one in the comment section below, and be sure to follow Prologue on IG. Also, on another note, be on the lookout for more write-ups. Okay, that’s all I got to say for now. Without further ado, I present episode 1 of Mellow Marsh Meetings…
