BLOCK HEAVY GANGSTA EDITION by Bloodblixing | My Thoughts

This album was released on December 5th this year. I’m not gonna beat around the bush here; this is the best Bloodblixing album I’ve ever heard. Pretty much everything about the way this album was presented led me to believe that it’d be Blix’s best work, and I wasn’t wrong. The album cover from Chop the Head is perhaps my favorite of the year, and the features here are crazy. I don’t think I’ve ever really heard an album from him that I didn’t like, but this one is a tier above the others.

The first track I wanna write about here is called PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY, and it features Lync Lone. I have become a pretty massive fan of Lync Lone in the past few years, so I was really looking forward to his feature here, and it did not disappoint at all. First of all, the production from Blix here is actually really amazing. This is definitely the best collection of instrumentals I’ve ever heard from him, which is saying a lot. The way he has these two different sides to the beat here is really crazy. I don’t know if I’m explaining it properly. Basically, the main loop is this really angelic, lush sound, and then all of a sudden after about 37 seconds this really dark, menacing, ominous sound takes over and totally clashes with the preceding loop. However, they kinda mix together in an oddly satisfying way. It’s a strange, yet fascinating auditory juxtaposition. Had to throw in the big brain speech for a sec. Anyway, Lync Lone’s flow on his verse sounds fire, and Blix killed this shit too. I love these lines the most…

I'll rob you 49 times, baby, what the helly?
This is a tip drill and I ain't even talkin' 'bout Nelly
Called me over, she said she got somethin' to tell me
She said, "please tuck your chain, hun, they'll take it"
I hit her with one of them stale faces, like…
I'll be damned, mama, they know who I am, mama
I'm still your baby boy, but to them I'm the man, mama

Bloodblixing told me that this was his favorite song on the album, and it’s definitely up there for me too. It’s definitely top 5. Maybe top 3. It’s fire.

The following track is called MONOGRAMOUFLAGE, and it features Pink Siifu & Gabe ‘Nandez. The instrumental here is fucking incredible. The part that Pink Siifu raps over is just gorgeous, man. It sounds beautiful. The evolution of that beat is just pure ear candy. The second beat that comes on for Gabe ‘Nandez’s verse is fire as well. I love the way the drums kinda fade in. It’s super satisfying when the bass comes in. And goddamn, Gabe ‘Nandez was FLOWINGGG. The whole track is just a blast to listen to. I love it. I think I like it even more than the preceding track.

Track 5 is called THE MEANEST BLOCK, and it features Quelle Chris & AJ Suede. The instrumental here is relatively ominous and dark. It kinda sounds like what would play in my head as I realize that I accidentally took too much of my prescribed medication. It’s like the sound of anxiety creeping in as you realize you just fucked up. Quelle Chris is one of my favorite rappers of all time, and his verse here is pretty nice. With that said, I think AJ Suede got him on this track. The way Suede comes in right behind him just sounds really great. The difference of energy in their vocal tones creates a nice juxtaposition. That’s the second time I’ve used the word “juxtaposition” in this review, isn’t it? Maybe I can go for the trifecta. Anyway, Suede’s flow sounds pretty awesome on this beat, and I loved that Frogger line. That was really dope. This is yet another highlight on the album for me. It’s dope as hell.

It’s followed by DROPPED PHONE CALLS, which features Unruly. Out of all the artists I’ve started listening to in the past couple years, I think Unruly has grown on me the most. I never thought he was a bad rapper, but I couldn’t really get into the first album I heard by him. Something about the way he was flowing just didn’t click for me, and I also wasn’t super thrilled with his collaborators. However, that all completely changed last year when I heard his Black Beloved album, which was a genuinely great project. He gives me more of what I loved about that album on this song. This dude’s flow is just relentless, man. The hunger is undeniable. I love how aggressive he is on the mic. The breath control is wild, and this beat is fucking crazy too. It sounds really dreamy, but, like, in a drug-induced way. This is definitely one of the craziest beats on the album. I really enjoyed Blix’s verse as well. It was highkey easier to catch stand-out lines from him since his flow wasn’t as fast-paced. Unruly’s verse was like an onslaught of syllables (in a good way), but Blix rhymed more slow and steady. Anyway, my favorite line from him was when he rhymed “asinine” with “her face a two but her ass a nine.” That was tight. The song’s flames.

Track 7 is called SCHADENFREUDE, and it features Sleep Sinatra. There are two beats on this song. I think the one that Sleep spits over might be my favorite beat on the whole album. It’s just such a cool instrumental. It makes me think of the Land of Departure from Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep. It sounds like shooting stars. Sleep absolutely rhymed his ass off over it too. The Soulspazm reference was dope as fuck.

Felt pain's pinnacle and been surpassed that
Get crashed like NASDAQ for cash grab
It'll get hazmat levels of ill, leave you spillin' where the bag's at
Lead the women and children, I'm drillin' on your dad's hat
Peep definitive feelings, reveal your real habitat
Aftermath, ashin' out the window while the moment last
Echoes vibrate down the blocks, left you open fast
Now niggas need a paywall for my soul to spazz

Sleep’s verse takes up the first 50 seconds of the track, and then the beat completely switches up before Blix starts rapping. At first I was a little disappointed that the instrumental changed because I love the first part so much. However, after multiple listens I think it was a good choice to divide the track in that manner. Even though Sleep gets his own beat, he still feels like a complement to the track. He doesn’t completely steal the show due to how the song is structured. Anyway, the second beat is really nice, and Blix killed it. That’s definitely one of my favorite verses from him. His part of the song is so good that I wouldn’t even mind if it was just a solo track. I mean, the Sleep feature definitely pushes this shit to the next level, but it would’ve been dope either way. I think this is my favorite song on the album, but I still haven’t fully decided. I don’t know yet.

Track 8 is called TRICK BOX, and it’s fucking insane. This one features Deleteeglitch, and I don’t think Blix could’ve chosen a better artist for this instrumental. This is easily the trippiest beat on the whole album. It’s lowkey haunting as motherfuck. It sounds like what would play in my head after I take a massive rip from the DMT cart. That saxophone sample is insane. Deleteeglitch is one of the most underrated artists on my radar these days, so I was excited to hear him on here. He did NOT disappoint at all. This shit is fucking crazy. This might be the craziest song on the whole album actually. Hmm… Ok. Yeah. Fuck it. This is the best song on the album. That beat is way too insane for me to not choose this one. Shit makes me feel like I’m dusted. Not that I would know what that feels like. I’m just sayin’, this is what I imagine it would sound like if I was high on PCP. Crazy.

DON’T FLY CLOSE 2 THE SUN features Defcee, and it’s another highlight for me. This beat is perfect for Defcee. His flow, vocal delivery, and writing are all on point as always.

Started rockin' glasses, it's Defcee BA now
Overcharging labels in the negative on PayPal
Crew rockin' all black so we broke the stage down
Got it out the mud after flooding in the waste ground

He just knows how to sound good whenever he raps. I feel like even if he was rapping some bullshit it would sound good. I love his verse here, and Blix’s performance was nice as well. I feel like I didn’t say as much about this track as I did some of the others. It’s pretty straightforward though. The beat’s fire, Defcee’s verse is excellent, and Blix sounded nice as well. The song’s dope as hell.

SLAVESHIPS 2 SPACESHIPS features Teller Bank$, so this was another one of my most anticipated tracks on the album. The instrumental here is pretty good, albeit not one of my favorites on the album. The opening verse from Blix is pretty nice, and I actually think the hook he spit was pretty catchy. The Teller verse is what pushes this song to the next level though. It has one of the best opening lines I’ve heard all year, which I won’t spoil here. That shit had me dying though. There are a lot of quotable lines in his verse. I liked the line about how he has two sticks strapped to his legs so he’s walking on stilts. That’s fire.

I'm at the pill presser lettin' pressure build
Clientele mostly white like it's SNL
Well wishes, this nickel flip you into a wishing well
The pale horseman in black Forces
I need a white Porsche
Hopped off the porch, fell in porcelain
Four scores of seven sorcerers
Stretched the proportions thin
I'm in the lab like Dr. Yakub, mixin' that shit up
One hit'll have a fat bitch doin' sit-ups

That’s easily one of the best verses on the album. It probably has the most quotable lines out of any of the verses here. I love it. He slaughtered this shit.

The last song I wanna talk about is the closer, THE CLOCK IN THE SKY + ATÉ MAIS. This one has another spectacular feature from Lync Lone. This song has a very different energy from that of PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY, which I appreciate. The instrumental here is pretty and dreamy. It works perfectly as the closer. It sounds like what would play as the credits are rolling. Lync’s flow on the opening verse is fantastic. This line got an audible reaction from me…

What Lucki said? "You gotta put your soul in it"
You broke because you think too hard, sometimes just go with it
The only rule I'm on for myself is just no limits
Smokin' endless blunts, fuck a rotation, I'm lone with it

Hard. The hook from Blix is very straightforward, but it works really well. The last verse on the album from him wraps things up really nicely. The way the last recital of the hook starts just feels almost celebratory. It kinda gives this feeling that we just successfully made it through a dangerous journey. It kinda sounds like something from a Nintendo game to me a little bit. Not in a retro way though. It sounds like modern Nintendo. Can I say that? Is that offensive or insulting to say? I mean it in a good way. It sounds like a Kirby level. I love it. This is one of my favorites on the album. I might actually like this one more than PEPPERDINE UNIVERSITY. I think it’s amazing.

This album is dope as hell. This is definitely the best Bloodblixing album I’ve heard in my life, and I’d be curious to see if he’s able to surpass it any time in the not-too-distant future. This one apparently took two years to make, and all that time definitely paid off. The production here is straight up amazing to be honest. The coolest thing about it is that I know for a fact that nobody else could’ve made beats like these. I’ve picked up on one of Blix’s musical idiosyncrasies—the way he’s able to blend two sounds that one would think clash too much is flat out astonishing at times. In terms of features, this album probably has the best tracklist I’ve seen in 2025. It has multiple MCs whom I would say are some of my favorites of all time. These are the best verses I’ve ever heard from Bloodblixing himself as well. Everything about this project just feels very meticulously crafted. Blix was in peak condition when putting this thing together. The mixing, while still rough around the edges, wasn’t even noticeably poor in my opinion. I didn’t even think about it this time around. I really have no complaints with this one. It’s one of the best albums of the year easily. I love it.
