The quality has definitely fluctuated a lot when it comes to Kid Cudi’s albums. Like I said in my recent review of his latest album, I don’t think he’ll ever reach the greatness of the original Man on the Moon again, but I’ll be satisfied just as long as he continues to make stuff that’s at least as good as the third one. I really hated Indicud when it first came out, but I think it’s an okay album now. It has a lot of really great highlights, along with some horrific tracks. Even Satellite Flight has some tracks that I really love despite the project being super mediocre overall. That song Balmain Jeans is creepy as fuck by the way. Same goes for the song Girls, which was on Indicud. Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven is of course a very infamous album. I think it’s a pretty terrible project, but it’s not as shitty as I expected it to be based on the way everyone was talking about it when it first came out. It has a handful of songs that I like. I don’t know if I’ll ever review another Kid Cudi album just because it feels like they’re always pretty goddamn long. I guess I’ll see how I feel next year when he finally drops that Entergalactic project he’s been promoting. I don’t even know if I can call myself a fan of Kid Cudi because his albums are so all over the place. To me he’s been more consistent in the past four years than he’d ever been prior to 2016. I hope he doesn’t dip back into the mediocrity of his early to mid 2010s output.
